This is a great idea, wonderfully articulated. Want to keep up with this, Tara, and then wondering maybe we need a WIP series for the Non-Dē 50 so people can share cuts of what they're up to for response and feedback from within the community. I'd be happy to arrange this IRL in Brooklyn but could also be done virtually.

A WIP series is a great idea, Josh! I always love IRL but it might be easier/more accessible for people virtually. Maybe we could do a combo of both?

Absolutely let’s figure out what works for the filmmakers. Gonna add this to the “make it happen” list for 2026.

This is brilliant. Process is everything. The concept of filmmaking as ritual is so powerful!! I was on the call too and am making my feature next year! I’d love to offer any support you may need in the process. I lost my mom at a young age, 24 years ago, and have been writing about and ritualizing grief essentially ever since. In the spirit of NonDē mutual aid, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need a grief film doula!!

Thank you!! I love this idea of a grief film doula, and I’d love to do the same for you!

I’d love that! My film only lightly touches on grief, but a film doula would be hugely supportive!

Tara I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Clearing out a house after losing someone you love is no small project, physically or emotionally. It's beautiful to imagine how you'll be capturing parts of it. Sending you lots of love and endurance for this two-fold process. Excited to see the film you make!

Thank you so much, Courtney! It sounds like we’re exploring some similar themes in our films. Very excited to see yours as well!

Wow this sounds exciting! I'm very curious to see the fruits of your project - what a beautiful way of alchemizing grief, honoring death, rebirth and a great transition.
